Only you know what exactly the TKPROF is showing, since nobody can tell what they cannot see.

According to documentation
  • QUERY = Total number of buffers retrieved in consistent mode for all parse, execute, or fetch calls. Usually, buffers are retrieved in consistent mode for queries.
  • CURRENT = Total number of buffers retrieved in current mode. Buffers are retrieved in current mode for statements such as INSERT, UPDATE, and DELETE.

So from the doc I have noticed that as follows

QUERY:- Only used for select statments
CURRENT:-Only used for update/delete/insert statements

Yes that is correct even in the select query both the columns are being used.So still confused over the output suggested by those columns.
