I want to set visual attribute property of the item currently i am working on and the same process going on when the cursor is move towards next item and so on.

I'm sorry, but this question doesn't make any sense to me. Are you sure this pertains to SQL/ PL/SQL?

Looks like a Forms question ...

If so, SET_ITEM_PROPERTY should be used in WHEN-NEW-ITEM-INSTANCE or PRE-TEXT-ITEM triggers.

If it's for the current record then you want set_item_instance_property
